If we want to experience joy this season, we need to stop keeping score in our relationships. I wrote and posted a message last January that seems especially relevant now, with the holidays upon us. Keeping score is the fastest way to assure disappointment and resentment. Click here to travel back in time and read the original post.
I remember that post, Donna! It was timely and did stick with me. I am definitely happiest when I give freely and without expectation of return, and at the same time trust that my relationships are as reciprocal as they need to be.
This year I’m thinking I may let go the usual holiday summary letter and photo, and simply write to my friends. I’ll reminisce on shared memories and common aspirations. I’ll get to everybody eventually, even if it takes me ’til St. Patrick’s Day (my current tardy record). If I were my friends, I think I’d appreciate that.
Happy Holidays, Donna! 😊

St. Patrick’s Day–that’s not bad … I think you still qualify for the holiday grace period. Yes, I agree that your friends would love that personal note and reminiscence–no matter when they receive it. Hope you and your family have a lovely–low pressure–holiday, Cathy! Thanks for reading and commenting on my recycled post!

An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a coworker who has been doing a little homework
on this. And he in fact bought me dinner because I stumbled upon it for him…
lol. So let me reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending some time to talk about this topic here on your blog.
